Akron Square Fest Art

I was honored to have been asked to create the art for the Akron Square Fest t-shirt for the fall of 2015. Square Fest is held in the Highland Square neighborhood in Akron. I don’t consider myself an adept illustrator and the city was in a time pinch. I reached out to local pen-ninja Melissa Ferrato and together, we created this super fun illustration. This is a whimsical portrait of Highland Square with iconic local businesses, the classic Goodyear blimp in the background and a receding “Akron” up Market Street. The art was printed on oatmeal-colored t-shirts with pale yellow, lavender and black ink to give the shirts a vintage feel. Thanks so much to the City of Akron for the lovely opportunity!
